20 years ago ESTHEME set itself the task of revolutionizing the Cashmere industry by combining its know-how with an exceptional material.

A PASSION FIRST AND FOREMOST

ESTHEME represents the love for cashmere, quality and innovation. Based in Paris since its creation, ESTHEME is also a family adventure. Each of its actors is passionate about their profession, from stylists to production agents and sales managers, all have been present since the beginning to participate in this great success story.

The founder of the brand is not yet 30 years old and when she created the brand. It is from her vision of a cashmere of quality that is both trendy and affordable that ESTHEME was born in 2003. Since then, the success encountered by its vast ranges of models and constantly renewed colors has never been denied.

LOVE OF THE PRODUCT

Because the brand loves exceptional materials, their choice naturally fell on cashmere, this rare and precious fiber resulting from an extremely selective production representing only 0.5% of wool production in the world. Their rich experience combined with their technical know-how and their creativity allows them to imagine quality models at affordable prices for each new season.

ORIGIN OF CASHMERE

Originally, cashmere comes from a very fine Indian fabric woven with the deep layer of the hair of goats from Cashmere or Tibet reputed to be wild and living at high altitudes, in particular around Kashmir at the foot of the Himalayas and in Mongolia.

Mongolia is an immense region, arid, desert, the least populated on the globe, which is in fact divided into 2 countries: Mongolia, and "Inner Mongolia". This region accounts for 70 to 80% of the world's Capra Hircus goat herd. Livestock farming has remained very artisanal and largely contributes to the survival of a traditional rural population. In Mongolia, goats are combed and/or shorn.

At the end of the winter period, when the temperatures warm up, the goats moult naturally. They are then combed to recover the wool, so a goat only gives 50 to 80 grams of down, i.e. a simple cashmere sweater requires the down of 4 to 5 goats.

The color of cashmere can be given to it in different ways: either by dyeing the raw material when it is recovered from the animal, or by dyeing the yarn obtained, or by dyeing the sweater that is already made. These three processes result in different qualities of cashmere, the best being obtained by using the first process, which is the case at ESTHEME for the vast majority of its models.
